We have a banner!

Subtitle: Oh, that’s right. We exist. And with authority.

For those of you that went to the KC game, there’s really no way you would have missed the banner if you were in the west or south stands. We didn’t have an official Los Toros section for this game, but we put it in the section we will use (so we didn’t get the adrenaline rush that being within the vicinity of the banner provides). For those of us cool enough to be in the east stands, here’s a idea of how massive it is:

It’s Huge!

Here’s one that includes some Los Toros members (Natalia and 3 weirdos):

    Jose, Natalia, Andy, and myself.

Ignore the guy in the middle and the crazy looking kid.

I know who you are!…is it just me or does that kid in the very middle have a mustache? Young Adolf?…Wait, guess that’s his mouth.

By the way we are up to almost 20 for the playoffs…good start. We need to at least double this number. Forward the email each of you received this afternoon to everyone you know!

From hauling it from my car to PHP and back, I’m not convinced it needs much in the line of dead-weight to hold it down. But some are concerned about the wind. If anyone has ever handled this issue, let me know.

The banner looks incredible guys. I’m not sure if you would be allowed to do this, but could you tie the bottom corners to the staircases on each side to hold it down?

For the playoff game, is everyone going to be on the front row, or how many rows are we split up over?

Oh, and walterb, the kid loves spiderman, how could he be a Nazi?

  6. By walterb on Oct 22, 2007

    good point.

As of right now we have the first 9 rows in 126, seats 1-10. We have 20 people confirmed…we need 70 more! Pull out all the stops and let’s ensure we are louder than the Houston mensos!

I just emailed a few people inviting them to the game Saturday. See you all at the tailgate, I’ll leave the bike at home this time & load up the truck!

    Awesome banner!

djtizzle, don’t you think that banner could be a little bit larger? say, about 6 feet or so?

  11. By FriscoAndy on Oct 23, 2007

Very nice banner. Me and the wife just got season tickets in 108. I’d actually love to help you guys out, but my wife isn’t keen on standing the whole game. If I ever have to go to a game without her I’ll trade in my seats to be with you guys, if you have the room.

  12. By walterb on Oct 23, 2007

We’ll make the room…if you wife is keen to tailgate you’ll have to join us this weekend!

The banner really does look great! We are really looking forward to Saturday!!

  14. By walterb on Oct 23, 2007

Futbolchick, will you be able to make the tailgate?

  15. By futbolchick on Oct 23, 2007

Nathan and I are planning on being there. (We even have a babysitter lined up!) However, You will have to educate us on tailgating! Neither of us have ever been!! (is that sad?)

  16. By Tenacious_Mike on Oct 23, 2007

It looks like I’ll be able to attend the tailgate and the game….but my after game plans may demand I wear my Michael Jackson halloween costume to the game. Anybody have a spare Houscum jersey? Wouldn’t want to blemish the upstanding public image of the Hoops or Los Toros by having Michael Jackson supporting.
    hmmm…..

Hey guys…I actually made this banner for the Toros and I gotta say, it looks even better in person than it did when I had it laid out on the production table. You can definitely see it from everywhere in the stadium!

It is massive at 5′ x 25′ and I agree with Kirk that tying it down is probably not going to be necessary. There’s not a lot of wind that’s going to get up behind it…not with those sideboards in place during each match. And even if it is a little windy, the weight of the banner alone should keep it from blowing up too high. If you’re absolutely insistent on securing it at the bottom though, just take a couple of bungee cords with ya and pull it nice and tight…this should do the trick.

One more thing that I forgot to mention…ALWAYS roll this thing up with the copy (wording) on the outside. This will ensure that you get the maximum life out of the banner and the ink that was used to print it.

Trust me, I know a thing or two about banners. Coincidentally, I made a banner a few weeks ago for the Chicago match and ended up winning a 42″ plasma tv because of it! These playoff games are sure gonna look good on it…:)

If you guys need anything else, you know how to find me.

    GO HOOPS!!!
