Running Şcăred

Just ’cause I’m down, don’t mean I’m out. Nor does it mean I’ll courageously bow out. It does mean I don’t have time right now to finish up the MMP. Considering how much I rushed the last one yet managed to attract the attention of some minor country (hey, it ain’t Top 50).
I’ve had my 15 minutes of fame in Romania. Except, despite the declining dollar, Romanian fame is so much cheaper than American fame. What was the last thing Romanians did worth our attention? Dragostea din tei, you say? I was in Europe when this song hit it big, and despite its seriously awesome video, it was outdone by some stupid American who has well outlived his undeserved fame. Based on these events, I’m going to say the going rate for a minute of Romanian fame is, at best, 1.4 minutes of American fame. From what I’ve been told, Romania’s president might actually even read this post and make a comment on it, such is the low worth of Romanian attention. Maybe he already has?
I’ll get around to the regular column when I’m not fending off crazy Romanians. Until then, I suggest constantly refreshing 3rd Degree, with its Election Night-esqe coverage of Juan and Kenny’s respective transfer sagas. [You don't have him yet Steaua, proof that your media is adept as a fat kid on the monkey bars, or futbolchick in a 50 yard dash!]

Ok now you’re just making more enemies!

Alvarez was the hands down winner of the MMP award this week.
The most beautiful pass/assist to Oduro amongst an otherwise a largely uneventful day for him..
I especially love the way he jogs past other attackers on the other team pausing only to perform the tackle mentally.

Hmm.. nice video. I have to give Romania a lot of kudos for Nadia (especially since my daughter is a gymnast).. but some of those so called gastronimc delights remind me too much of haggis.. Nuff said
Just about every country in Europe prides itself on it’s wine and beer. Not that they are bad, (especially compared to the cow urine that they pass for beer in the US) but I wouldn’t say that Romania stood out particulary.

NathanRex you should visit romania once and taste some homemade traditional food.
And our beer is very good and most important it’s very cheap compared with most of the European countries. That’s why western people love our beer.

NathanRex: a Romanian beer, Timisoreana was chosen the world’s best beer in 2007 out of more than 900 beers. Nuff said.

eu: and you should visit Scotland and sample some cullen skink (which is served cold by the way)… just make sure you have a bathroom nearby should you dare to try it.
Cheap beer is universally popular.
meh: Just because you won one beer award in 2007, doesn’t mean that Romania rules when it comes to Beer. I’m sure that Timisioreana is great, but from what I’ve seen most beer awards are won by Germany and Austria.

eu: Once I have saved up enough $$$ and the dollar stops falling, I would personally very much like to visit Romania.
Although I have been fortunate to see a lot of Western Europe, I have always wanted to see Eastern Europe. My parents visited Romania and Hungary just a few years ago and were highly impressed - some of the buildings are simply outstanding.

NathanRex I also dream about a strengthening dollar, for a few years now… maybe you should negotiate you’re contract in another currency
