About Us
Los Toros was organized in the Summer of 2007 by a small (but vocal) group of fans who got tired of feeling outnumbered in our own sections whenever teams with a dedicated following came to town.
Right now, we’re a small group. But we’re growing. We’re out there — you’ve probably seen us in your sections at games earlier this season. We’re the ones who cheer a little too loudly for a perfect Dax McCarty cross, or a crucial Pablo Ricchetti pass. Yes, we’re the ones who scream bloody murder when some tries to take out Toja or Cooper. We’re the ones who want yellow shoes like Ricardinho and who get upset when the mainstream media fails to spell Duilio Davino’s name correctly.
You may even be one of us.
- We believe in supporting the Hoops, through both sickness and health, hamstring pulls and concussions, epic 6-5 SuperLiga games and tightly-contested 0-0 draws.
- We believe that Juan Toja, Adrian Serioux, and Kenny Cooper have scads of that Chuck Norris-type of “fighting spirit” that made (and continues to make) North Texas great.
- We believe that Steve Morrow should be known for more than the answer to an FA Cup trivia question.
- We believe that MLS Salary Cap shouldn’t be a joke.
- We believe that 9 games wasn’t enough for Ricardo Clark, and that Tyrone Marshall should have faced a worse punishment than having been banished to Toronto FC.
But most importantly, we believe that the best supporters group is made up of FC Dallas fans from all walks of life: young and old, dedicated season ticket holders and people who come out because it’s a great day to beat up on David Beckham and the Galaxy.
Some of us are die-hard veterans who support Mexican and European soccer teams who want to make up new chants and songs that will change the atmosphere at Pizza Hut Park. Others of us just want to be a part of that — or to have our kids know what it’s like to be a part of that.
We made our debut at the first FC Dallas home play-off game in 2007. Won’t you come and join us in 2008?
